19th July 2008 Windsurfing: Eastbourne Extreme Wind Direction: WSW Wind Stength: 18-30 knots Surf / Sea State: coastal swell, big lumps Air Temperature: warm enuf Sea Temperature: fine Weather: sunny, windy, and dry Max Speed: Distance Covered: Eastbourne Extreme opening day. Kona Cup event. Got down early to sort all the charter Kona board/rig packages for riders having done all the other organising on the Friday. Once I'd rigged the Kona's up for racing, I also thought I'd pre-empt a sneaky session on wave kit, so rigged 4.7m Manic on demo '08 Pocket Wave 93. Did a quick out and back on the Kona, and decided it was too daft for Kona racing. No-one disagreed, so pretty soon I was heading ut on wave kit. Pretty much a full day on wave kit, and at times wished I was on a 4.2m !!! Had a superb session, pretty much sailing all day ..... and rounded off with a few drink at Mark's birthday party. |
